The Hazlet Township Police Benevolent Association is a labor union comprised of sworn police officers of the Hazlet Township Police Department located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. We have been incorporated and serving our members and the public since August 14, 1969The Hazlet Township Officers are dedicated to serving and protecting the community where we live and work. We are committed to the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, safety, enforcement of laws and ordinances, and the safeguarding of constitutional rights and guarantees. It is also in our best interest to give back to the community by making charitable donations to various local entities such as scholarships, youth organizations, and other charitable organizations.As a labor union, we are dedicated to being proactive concerning working conditions, salaries, benefits, and pensions. It is the union’s duty to strive to protect the rights of the officers of the Hazlet Township Police Department according to our labor contract, department rules and regulations, and local, state, and federal law.

Domestic Violence » domestic

180 Turning Lives Around, in collaboration with the Hazlet Police Departement, has a team of specially trained volunteer advocates available to meet confidentially with domest violence victimes at police headquarters 24 hours a day. The volunteers work in conjunction with the police to provide support, information, referrals and a safety plan for the victim and family.

The Hazlet Police Department periodically sponsors a six day women’s self defense program. The program is held one day a week for six weeks where for two hours the women are taught various techniques in order to maximize their chances of surviving a vicious attack. It also incorporates lecture’s on crime prevention and current trends of criminal activity in order to minimize their chances of being victimized.

Kid Print is a program conducted by the PBA that finger prints childres to better assist law enforcement, should a child become a missing person.

The Hazlet PBA has donated $1000 to sponsor two of its representitives who will be riding their bicycles from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. For the past 14 years……

Luke Anshelewitz Cancer Fund » make a donation

On April 1, 2011 the Hazlet PBA donated $100 to the Luke Anshelewitz Cancer Fund.  Luke is a student at St. Johns Nursery School who was diagnosed with leukemia.  The donation will help defray some of the medical costs associated with the treatment of his disease.

 

   
The Hazlet Township Police Benevolent Association #189 has been in existence for over thirty years, not only representing the members of the Hazlet Township Police Department, but also donating to many good causes throughout our community. Monetary donations to our organization in conjunction with our membership dues enable us to support many people and programs in Hazlet. We have utilized these donations to support Educational Scholarships, DARE Programs, Student Athletic Programs, Church Groups, School PTO's, Special Olympics, Ident-A-Kid Programs, Needy Families, Underprivileged Children, National Night Out, Hazlet Day, and other various worthy causes. Your donations also help offset general and legal costs for our local.
